The Subteams

OUR SUBTEAMS

There’s so many ways to get involved at Orbit Robotics. Read below to see which subteams you’d be interested in participating in this season.

TECHNICAL TEAMS

D E S I G N

On Design we brainstorm, discuss, and prototype mechanisms for our robot! We make up how the robot is created, how it does tasks, and how awesome it looks! We use industry leading design software (Solidworks) to model our robot, and learn valuable mechanism techniques all while designing a competitive robot and having fun!

Programming is responsible for all code that goes on the robot this is the code that allows drivers to control the robot, autonomous code that runs at the start of every match and any control systems that are handled in code like computer vision.

Do you like making ideas become a reality? Like getting your hands dirty? Then you’ll love the build team! Orbit Robotics is incredibly fortunate to have access to industrial-grade machinery both in our own shop and at Sheridan’s Skilled Trades Centre. We work with metals and wood to machine parts for our robot, as well as getting to assemble it. Additionally, we have a group of highly skilled mentors from a variety of industry and teaching backgrounds to help you in the shop. Anyone looking for a future career in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or just interested in gaining some new skills, join FRC Team 1360’s build team.
